"Toyota seeks damage control, in public and private works Capitol Hill, airwaves, seeking to limit damage from acceleration, brake recalls"
"--State Farm, the largest U.S. auto insurer, said it had informed federal regulators late in 2007 about growing reports of unexpected acceleration in Toyotas. That disclosure raised new questions about whether the government missed clues about problems."
I am excited to see how this plays out! 2007?! ... bad news...
In the book, Wired for War, by PW Singer, it briefly mentions that Toyota had planed on eventually automating all its factories. I do not know when or where this data was taken from, however, when I read that line I had to wonder if that would help Toyota's brand image or hurt. And whether it would be seen as an increase or a decrease in the amount of error that can be made...
